Chando Tal lies to the west of
Nagar in
Basti District of
Uttar Pradesh. It is 8 km from Basti, on the way to Kalwari. Its length extends up to 5 km and width 4 km.
Formerly, there was an estate named Chandra Nagar at this site, and the lake formed as a result of natural degradation. Several historical residues and ornaments of ancient times can be still seen here.
This lake is home to a variety of rare species of birds. Fishing and shooting are the major activities.
