Chausath-Khambha, also known as the tomb of Salabat Khan, is a red sandstone edifice located near the
tomb of Sadiq Khan, on the by-pass road of
Agra. It is the tomb of Salabat Khan Mir-Bakhshi, the son of Sadiq Khan Mir-Bakhshi, constructed during 1644-1650.
The tomb is a hall of 64 pillars, which rises on a 5 feet high platform. Each corner of the platform has a beautiful square chhatri (pavilion). Twenty five square bays divide the hall, which is open on all sides. The central bay is the largest one with a cenotaph. The dome is internally decorated with floral designs painted on polished stucco.
