Purba Takkatulsi is situated in Satchand block of
South Tripura District. It is the largest
panchayat in the block.
The area is mostly inhabited by scheduled tribes and the percentage of population is quite low, (nearly 1,000 people), compared with other panchayats of the block. Potato is the main crop cultivated in this area. Fulchari, Rajnagar, Paschim Takkatulsi, Ratanmani, Betaga and Kaldepha are the surrounding places.
Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary and Pilak are the nearest tourist destinations. By road, Purba Takkatulsi is connected to Manu Bazar and Sabroom.
