Tirukkottiyur

Tirukkottiyur, one of the 108 Divya Desams in India, is 10 km from Tirupattur and 50 km east of Madurai . It is famed for the Uragamellanaiyaan Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu . This place is also the hometown of Tirukkottiyur Nambi, one of Ramanuja’s five gurus.

The nearest railway station is at Jolarpettai, which is 8 km from Tirupattur.
