Satchi Hanuman Temple




Satchi Hanuman Temple is an ancient temple situated at Rameshwaram in Ramanathapuram District of Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the monkey God.

Tradition recounts that this is the place where Lord Hanuman delivered the good news of having found Sita to Lord Ram with a Satchi (evidence), namely the 'Chootamani' (jewel) of Sita.

This sacred shrine lies 3 km from Ramanathaswamy Temple, on the way to Gandhamadana Parvatam. Madurai Airport and Rameswaram Railway Station are the nearest major access points.
