North Tripura District




North Tripura District has its headquarters at Kailashahar. It has an area of 2,470 sq km. Kumarghat and Dharmanagar are two industrial areas. There are 7 railway stations.

Betling Chip, the highest point of the state, is located in the Jampui range. Deo, Manu, Longai and Juri are the rivers flowing through North Tripura. Numerous rock-cut images dating back to the 8th century are found on the rocky walls of the Unakoti. Jampui Hill (the only hill station in Tripura where oranges are grown), Khowra Lake and Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary are also situated in North Tripura District.

The Ashokastami Mela is celebrated at Unakoti Teerth in the month of March/April. The orange and tourism festivals are held in Jampui Hill in the month of November during the orange season.
