Sholingur Narasimha Temple, also known as Tirukkadikai Temple, is situated at the top of a hill in
Sholingur, 27 km west of Thiruthani in Tamilnadu. This sacred shrine is a complex of three temples, one at ground level, one on a 500 ft high hill, and another on a smaller hill, enshrining Yoga Anjaneyar.
The ground temple houses the festival image of Bhaktavatsala Perumal and Adikeshava Perumal. The second temple stands on a 500 ft high hill called the Katikachalam Hill. 1000 steps lead to the temple. Amritavalli Taayaar is enshrined in a separate sanctum. The main deity in the temple of the smaller hill is Yoga Anjaneyar, with four arms, bearing a Shankh and a Chakra. The Anjaneyar temple with two towers, has shrines dedicated to Pallikonda Ranganathar and Kodandaramar.
It is believed that if one stays at these temples for at least half an hour, that person is guaranteed moksha. Numerous inscriptions are seen here from the period of Parantaka Chola I (10th century) as well as those from the Vijayanagar period. A big marriage hall, a hostel for overnight stay and mess facilities are available for visitors.
Sholingur Railway Station, on the Chennai-Bangalore rail line, is about 14 km from the Tirukkadikai Temple. Chennai International Airport is the closest airport. This temple is more easily approachable by road from Arakkonam or Chennai.
