Moyar River is one of the three rivers (Nugu,
Kabini and Moyar) flowing through the
Bandipur National Park,
Karnataka. It leaps into a 300 m deep gorge, an exciting sight during rainy season. The river separates
Mudumalai Sanctuary in
Tamil Nadu from the national park. Its water is used to produce electricity at Singara and Moyar powerhouses, which is on the sanctuary’s periphery. Monitor lizards, turtles, tortoises and crocodiles are seen in the remote areas.
