With detail of the creation of the Universe, from the creator itself (
Lord Brahma), Brahmanda Purana contains around 12,000 verses and is one among the 18 Puranas.
Ramayana, the great Indian epic, is belived to be a part of this
Purana. Brahmanda Purana is no longer available in single piece and present versions do not contain the Ramayana.
Apart from the creation of the universe, it deals about the determination of Kalpa and
Manvantara ages and their duration, and also the differentiation of Yugas. It talks about the genealogies of Sages, the dynasties of rulers and the legends of Pitas and their propitiation. The conflict between Karttikeya and Parasurama and numerous other tales are illustrated in detail. It concludes with the episode of Goddess Lalitha in 40 chapters.
