asanas, Matsyasana is known as the 'destroyer of all diseases'. The term Matsyasana means 'Fish Posture'.
It stretches the deep hip flexors and the muscles (intercostals) between the ribs. It also stretches and stimulates the muscles of the belly and front of the neck, and the organs of the belly and throat. Matsyasana also strengthens the muscles of the upper back and back of the neck.
It normalizes the function of the thyroid, pituitary, pineal and adrenal glands. It is also beneficial to people with asthma.
