The Vaishnava temple at Srimushnam is one of the eight Vaishnava shrines in south India. The idol worshipped at the temple is
swayambhu representing Varaha Avatar. The temple houses the chariot-shaped Purushasukta Mandapam famous for its architectural grandeur. Built by the Nayaks in the 17th century, it is elegantly carved with warriors riding horses and elephants.
