Nepali, one of the
Indo-Aryan Languages, is spoken in northern parts of India, Nepal and Bhutan. It is the official language of Nepal and in India, native speakers of this language are settled in
Sikkim,
Bihar,
West Bengal,
Uttar Pradesh and
Uttaranchal. It is the official language of Sikkim. Originating from
Sanskrit, the language is very close to
Hindi and
Bengali. The language is also close to Tibeto-Burman languages. Though originally written in Bhujimol script, today, Nepali is mostly written in
Devanagari.
