Rangat




Rangat, the tehsil headquarters of Middle Andaman, is a fast developing town situated 70 km south of Mayabunder in Andaman District of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is about 210 km from Port Blair.

The town is quiet close to Jarawa (primitive tribes of the islands) reserve. Plenty of oranges, coconuts and bananas are grown in this area.

Places of tourist interest are Amkunj Beach and Betapur Beach. Excursions to Mayabunder, Cutbert Bay Beach and Panchavati Waterfall will be an enchanting experience.

The Hare Krishna Lodge and the APWD Guest House offer excellent and comfortable accommodation in the town.

By road, Rangat is easily reachable from Port Blair. Boat services are also available from Port Blair to Rangat via Havelock Island.
