Rikhabdev Temple is dedicated to Lord Rishabdev, the first Jain
Tirthankar. Belonging to the
shwetambara sect of the Jains, the temple is famous as Kesariyaji, derived from 'kesar' (saffron) put on the forehead of the black stone idol of the Lord. Pilgrims visit this temple and offer kesar often equal to the weight of their new born child. The oldest inscription found on the temple is of year 1424. In front of the main temple is an idol of Marudevi Mata, the mother of Lord Rishabdev, seated on a marble elephant.
Rishabhdeoji Fair held here during January/February is a major draw.
Rikhabdev Temple is situated on the on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad Road, about 65 km from Udaipur.
