Murhar is situated near the India-Pakistan border in
Jaisalmer District of
Rajasthan. It is around 17 km to the east of
Biloi. Twenty-four kilometers to the east is
Dhanana.
Scarcity of water is one of the major crises in this parched land. Transportation is also a major problem. People have to travel mostly by walking or resort to camel rides.
Jaisalmer Railway Station and Jaisalmer Airport are the nearest access points.
