Sheetla Mata Fair
Also known as the fair of bullock-carts, Sheetla Mata Fair is held in the village of Seel-Ki-Doongri in honor of Sheetla Mata - the goddess of small-pox. Seel-Ki-Doongri is a hillock on top of which the shrine of Sheetla Mata stands. It is celebrated in the month of Chaitra (March-April). This annual fair attracts a number of visitors from far and wide. It is customary to cook one's own food at the temple, and eat it only after it has been offered to the deity. During the fair, a cattle fair is also organized.
