Bhilwara District




Bhilwara District is situated at the south-eastern part of Rajasthan. It is surrounded by Ajmer in the north, Chittorgarh in the south, Udaipur in the west, and Bundi in the east. It has a total area of 10,455 sq km with a population of around 2 million.

Bhilwara has moderate climate with dry summer and extreme winter. Average rainfall is 80 cm. Banas, Berach, Kothari and Khari are the principal rivers. Major crops are wheat, maize, rapeseed and mustard, jowar, pulses, groundnut, barley, sesamum, sugarcane, cotton, red chilies, gram, and bajra.

Bhilwara is an industrial center. The nearest airport is at Udaipur. The important places to visit are Harni Mahadev, Mejha Dam, Joganiya Mata mandir, Badnore, Triveni, Mandalgarh, Bijolia and Shahpura.
