Neemrana is an ancient village situated 75 km north of
Alwar , in
Rajasthan. This small village is concealed in a horse-hole formation of the
Aravalli Ranges - regarded as the oldest fold mountains in the world. The place, situated on a majestic plateau, is renowned for the 15th century Neemrana Fort Palace, now converted to a heritage resort. Neemrana is on the

Neemrana, steeped in history, was the third capital of the descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III, who was killed in the battle with Mohammad Ghori in 1192. The name ‘Neemrana’ is derived from a brave local chieftain Nimola Meo, who when defeated by the Chauhans, pleaded that his name be given to his lost kingdom.
The nearest railway station is at Rewari (65 km), Haryana. Neemrana is about 100 km from Indira Gandhi International Airport, in New Delhi.
