Nathdwara

Nathdwara is a famous Hindu pilgrimage spot situated on the banks of the Banas River in Rajsamand District of Rajasthan. It is about 48 km north-east of Udaipur and is famous for the Nathdwara Miniature Painting.

Major point of attraction here is a 17th century shrine of Shrinathji (Lord Krishna), which attracts devotees from all over India. Foreign tourists are not permitted inside the temple and photography is prohibited in the premises. Souvenir shops are aplenty in the town; also one can explore how the 'pichwai' is painted.

Rajsamand is around 15 km north. Nearest airport is at Udaipur. Closest railway station is Mavli Junction Railway Station. National Highway 8 has its route through Nathdwara.
