Khimsar is a fortified Rajasthani township located in
Nagaur District. It lies about 45 km south-west of
Nagaur and 90 km east of
Jodhpur, on the Jodhpur-
Bikaner highway.
This entrenched township was founded approximately 2000 years ago by Lord Mahavir. Major point of attraction is the Khimsar Fort, a 16th century fort known for its architecture and great heterogeneity.
Other places of tourist interest are a museum, the Fateh Mahal and the Jain Temples. Excursions to the Deshnok Devi at Deshnok and the Jain Temples at Osiyan will be an enchanting experience.
