Also known as Charbhuja temple, Meera Bai Temple is situated in
Nagaur District of
Rajasthan. This 400-year-old temple is dedicated to Meera Bai, the legendry poetess who dedicated her whole life worshiping
Lord Krishna and spreading her message all over India. The cenotaph (
chhatri) of Meera Bai's Guru Shri Rai Das of Banaras is situated in front of the temple. A figure of five human bodies with one head is carved inside the cenotaph. It conveys the message that all castes are equal and even outcasts can attain God.
