Mandore in
Jodhpur District has a beautifully landscaped 82-acre garden, famous for the dewals, or cenotaphs of Jodhpur's former rulers of the Marwar Dynasty. Unlike the usual umbrella-shaped cenotaphs typical of
Rajasthan, these were built in the style of Hindu temples, four storeys high, with fine columns and an elegant spire, all in red sandstone. The cenotaphs depict gods, goddesses and folk heroes.
The garden, established in the 16th century, has a wide variety of plants and trees. The main attraction is the jet fountain. A pond called Nagadari is also situated in this garden. The Nagpancharni and Veer puri fairs are organized here. Now the garden has been converted into a park for children.
