Sitabari is a beautiful picnic spot situated about 45 km from
Baran, in
Rajasthan. This holy place of worship is situated just a kilometer from
Kelwara on the
Kota-
Shivpuri Route.
It is said that Sita lived in this place after being left-out by Lord Ram. The place is also known as the birth-place of Lava-Kusha.
Major point of attraction here is the ancient temples Sita, Lakshman and seven water tanks namely Balmiki Kund, Sita Kund, Laxman Kund, Surya Kund and Lava-Kusha Kund. Sita-Kuti is situated in the forest area near the temple.
The annual Sitabari Fair held here in May/June is a major draw.
Baran Railway Station is the nearest railhead, about 75 km from Kelwara. Sitabari is about 120 km from Kota.
