Rani Sati Temple is situated in
Shekhawati region of
Rajasthan. The temple commemorates an act of Sati, a self immolation at husband pyre, performed by the wife of a merchant who was killed by a nawab soldier after a tough battle in the 15th century. The temple holds tile and mirror mosaic on the ceiling of the mandapa, showing the pictures of Rani Sati. The wall paintings of the temple depicts the story of Rani Sati, the act of sati and the chariot carrying the ashes.
