Godavaridham is a famous religious center situated on the banks of
River Chambal. A beautiful temple dedicated to
Lord Hanuman or 'Bajrangbali' located here draws a large number of devotees. Legend says that a railway officer named Gopinath Bhargava obtained the idol of Hanuman from the river. He was following his dream in which Lord Hanuman appeared and directed him to dig out his image from the waters. A half submerged palace called 'Amar-Niwas' situated nearby is another point of attraction.
