Mira Bai is considered as one of the greatest devotees of
Lord Krishna. The devotional songs that she composed and sang in praise of Lord Krishna are still popular in India. She dedicated her entire life to the devotion of Lord Krishna.
Mira Bai was born in a conservative royal family in Rajasthan in 1494. Since her family worshipped Lord Vishnu, her devotion to Lord Krishna and her singing songs in his praise was opposed greatly by her family members. But with the passage of time, people saw in her a great devotee of Lord Krishna and followed her example. She traveled to many parts of India promoting the worship of Lord Krishna. According to legend, her devotion was so great that she became one with the Lord.
