Camel Festival is held in January or February in
Bikaner,
Rajasthan. An exclusive camel affair, its worth is enhanced by the display of the desert region's folk dances and music.
The festival kicks off with the procession of beautifully decorated camels. A camel pageant is held on the first day wherein the camel owners show off their camel’s decorations and jewellery. This is followed by camel races, camel tug war, camel acrobatics, camel dances and camel milking competition. During this time, the city comes alive with music and dances. Since the tourists get an opportunity to explore Bikaner and the surrounding places during the festival, it is fast growing in popularity.
The grand finale is a magnificent display of fireworks, which illuminates the desert city of Bikaner.
