Badoli Temples

A Temple Complex of Archeological Importance



Located near the Pratap Sagar dam, Badoli is one of the oldest and most marvellous temple complexes in Rajasthan. Dating back to the 9th century AD, this temple complex consisting of nine temples is believed to have been built just before the classical period of temple building. It is adorned with the finest carvings including the figure of Shiva as Nataraja, the cosmic dancer. The principal temple is that of Ghateshwar Mahadev which is protected by a walled enclosure. There are many other interesting shrines in the complex rich in archeological remains, sculptures, and carved ornamented pillars.

Badoli is 48 km from Kota. The nearest airport and railway station are at Kota.
