Vairagya is a common term used in Yoga and Indian spirituality. It means development of dispassion towards all temporal objects. Vairagya is considered a must for all spiritual seekers in the Indian system of Philosophy.
Vairagya has to be consistently practiced, to gain spiritual heights.
Vairagya may develop in a spiritual seeker in two ways. Due to miseries (Karana Vairagya), or due to the discrimination between the real and the unreal (Vivekapurvak Vairagya).
