Sukhna Lake

Sukhna Lake, an artificial picturesque lake, lies in the foothills of Shivalik range. This 3 sq km lake was created by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills and is on the northern border of Chandigarh.

An ideal site for bird watchers, Sukhna serves as a sanctuary for many exotic migratory birds such as Siberian duck, storks and cranes, during the winter months. The lake has the longest channel for rowing and yachting events in Asia and is the venue for the Asian Rowing Championships. It also has facilities for water surfing, skiing and yachting.

Mango Festival held during the monsoons attracts scores of visitors.

Sukhna is bordered by Chandigarh Golf Club to the south and the Rock Garden to its west.
