A blend of European, Rajput and Mughal styles, Motibagh Palace was built by Maharaja Narinder Singh around 1845. Featuring 15 dining halls and many outer buildings, it is one of the largest homes in Asia. Earlier, it was the residence of the former rulers of
Patiala. The walls are decorated with beautiful sculptures, paintings from mythology scenes and portraits of the Sikh gurus. It houses a museum of antique arts and artifacts along with the world's largest collection of medals. Part of the complex now houses the National Institute of Sports.
