Nangal Dam is a subsidiary dam situated at
Nangal in
Rupnagar District of
Punjab. It is 1000 ft long and 95 ft high, and is used for diverting water into the Nangal Hydel Channel. In this way, the dam holds up the water of the
Sutlej River coming from
Bhakra Dam and forms an artificial lake of 6 km length.
