Guru Har Rai, the grand son of
Guru Hargobind, was born in Kiratpur in 1630. He is worshipped as the seventh Sikh Guru and many
gurdwaras around the country are dedicated to him. Guru Har Rai was invested with the Guruship at the age of 14. The guru was known for his sensitive nature and spent his childhood at Kiratpur. He liked listening to devotional music and was interested in giving lectures on Sikhism. In order to spread Sikhism, he sent his disciples to
Rajasthan and
Delhi. Guru Har Rai passed away in 1661 after appointing his younger son Harkishan as the next Sikh Guru.
