Gurdwara Tittar Sahib is a highly revered Sikh shrine situated at Bazidpur village in
Ferozepur District. Built in 1820s by Sirdar Bishan Singh, an officer in the court of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, it preserves the memory of the visit of
Guru Gobind Singh to this village. Today, it is also known as Gurdwara Gurusar and it has undergone several additions and alterations from time to time.
Legend has it that Guru Gobind Singh Sahib killed a Tittar (partridge) at this site, hence the name of the gurdwara as Gurdwara Tittar Sahib. According to a story concocted by some writers, by killing this Tittar, Guru Sahib granted liberation to some one who had been reborn as a Tittar.
