Gurdwara Naulakha Sahib

Gurdwara Naulakha Sahib is located at Naulakha village, about 15 km from Sirhind. Devotees believe that Guru Tegh Bahadur visited this place, during his missionary journey to Malwa region. According to a myth, Lakhi Shah Banjara, a Sikh follower, vowed to give nine takas (rupees) to Guru, provided the Guru could locate his lost bull. After the bull was found, Lakhi offered nine takas to the Guru. The Guru distributed these takas among his poor devotees, saying that these were equivalent to nine lakhs. In memory of this incident, the village was named Naulakha.
