Gharuan is a village situated 8 km from
Morinda in
Rupnagar District of
Punjab. It is a historical village on the Chandigarh-
Ludhiana Road, which has been declared as an Adarsh (ideal) village. This village was also blessed by the visit of Guru Har Rai Sahib, the seventh guru of Sikh faith. Gurdwara Guru Har Rai Sahib, one of the
gurdwaras in the village, was built here to preserve the memory of the visit of this guru.
The village also has another Gurdwara, at about 300 m away from here, built in memory of the visit of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, the ninth Sikh guru. As most other villages, this village also has vast agricultural land owned by Jat farmers.
Morinda Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
