Dalla

Dalla is a famous village located 6 km south-east of Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala District. One of the major Sikh sites in Punjab, Dalla is sanctified by the visits of Guru Amar Das and Guru Arjan. Dalla is noted for the gurdwaras raised in honor of the gurus. Gurdwara Janjghar, an octagonal domed building, is the main attraction. About 100 m from here, there is a small shrine Gurdwara Mata Damodari Ji. This gurdwara arranges special congregations in August annually. Gurdwara Baoli Sahib, located 100 m east of Dalla, also attracts large number of Sikh devotees. It is believed that this gurdwara was founded under the guidance of Guru Arjan. The oldest buildings in Sultanpur, named as Hujra Hajira and Serai, are nearby attractions. Sultanpur Lodhi Railway Station is the nearby railhead and the nearest airport is Amritsar International Airport (65 km).
