Hola Mohalla is among the famous festivals of Sikhs, mainly celebrated at
Anandpur Sahib in
Rupnagar District of
Punjab. This colorful festival is held in the month of March, on the next day after
Holi.
Various martial arts including archery, sword fencing, fancy horse-riding, tent-pegging, and the deft handling of other contraptions of offence and defense are displayed by the Nihangs during this occasion. Spectacular and exciting acts of dare-devilry agilely executed are staged.
The festival ends with a procession taken through the township. Thousands of people come from far-off places to part this festival.
