Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) is the largest and most destructive of all reptiles. Male crocodiles reach lengths of 23 ft and females reach lengths of over 10 ft. They have a very large head and very strong jaws. Juveniles are pale yellow colored with black stripes and spots on the body and tail. Adult crocodiles are dark color with occasional tan or yellow spots. The underside is a pale white color.
Saltwater crocodiles are meat eaters. Diet consists of snakes, buffalo, and domestic cattle. They have been known to eat people.
Breeding takes place in freshwater areas. Females lay 40 to 60 eggs in mound nests that are made of plant matter.
