Boudh, situated 240 km northwest of
Bhubaneswar, is the administrative headquarters of the
Boudh District. The town had witnessed many a religious movement in the past and was once a significant Buddhist center. Now it is a prominent industrial and agricultural center of
Orissa.
Places of tourist interest in and around the town include the Buddha statue, Hanuman temple, Chandra Chuda and Matengeswar temple, Raghunath temple and Jagati (16 km). Mahanadi River traverses the town.
Biju Patnaik Airport is 240 km away. Nearest railhead is at Rairakhol (27 km). Regular bus services connect Boudh with Berhampur, Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur.
