Nayagarh District is located at the eastern part of
Orissa. One of the oldest districts in Orissa, it has an area of 3,954 sq km with a population of 0.8 million. Around 40% is covered by forests. The
National Highway 5 passes through Nayagarh.
Nayagarh is home to the irrigation and power project of Budhbudhiani and the hot water spring Tarabalo. It is also acknowledged for its leather works, brass and bell utensils, and sugar factory. The Burtanga River flows through the district.
Baramul,
Kantilo,
Odagaon, Jamupatna, Sarankul,
Ranapur, Kuturi and Kuanria are the major tourist spots.
