Located at 150 ft above sea level, Motu is the southernmost point of
Malkangiri District, at the confluence of the rivers Sabari and Sileru. This
taluk headquarters is also home to a beautiful Jagannath Temple and hence an important pilgrim center. The moogi point - the extreme south point on the bank of the confluence of the river Savari and Sileru is another point of attraction. Difference in the colour of river waters even after confluence is remarkable. A statue of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das stands in a park near the confluence.
