Kulada is situated about 102 km from
Chhatrapur, in
Ganjam District of
Orissa. Major point of attraction here is a 12th century ruined fort, enveloped by the
Mahanadi River in the east and thick forests in the west.
Goddess Bagh Devi is the presiding deity of Kulada. Upper Bagh Devi with 210 steps is situated at the top of the hill. As the route to the temple is very tough for climbing another temple dedicated to Goddess Bagh Devi has been constructed near the road where large numbers of people gather to worship.
Temple of Lord Jagannath, Mausimaa Temple and Ratneswar Mahadev temple are other temples situated in the vicinity.
Kulada is believed to be the birth place of great Oriya poet Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja.
Kulada can be reached by good motor-able road from Bhanja Nagar (8 km) and Berhampur (88 km).
Berhampur Railway Station serves Kulada.
