These tribals of Tibeto Burmese origin are found in the southern districts of
Orissa, especially around
Koraput District. Since many live in the remote and inaccessible hilly regions of Orissa, they are untouched by modern civilization. They continue to live amidst old tribal traditions and concepts. They are also called the ‘naked people’. In their custom, women often marry men of a younger age, for a bride price. The Bondas earn their livelihood by growing paddy by shifting cultivation and rearing cattle.
