Madhukeswar Shiva Temple

Madhukeswar Shiva Temple is situated at Bhanragarh in Khordha District of Orissa. The temple dates back to the 10th century AD and was built by Madhukamarnava Deva, a Ganga king.

The temple houses various images of the dancers of that period. An inscription in the temple reveal that Akhanda Dipas (arrangements for non-stop burning of oil-lamps) were offered by Komi Nayak, father of Medam Devi and his wife Nagama Devi in 1113. There is an inscription written in old Oriya script on the wall of the temple.
