Kechala is a village situated on the southern bank of the river Kolab. This village is famous for a colossal Jain temple 30 ft high, containing five images of Jaina
tirthankars, one of Ambika and another of
Yaksha and
Yakshi seated together. The carved images exhibit a high standard of artistry and they all belong to the Jain Pantheon. The presence of this temple indicates that Kechala was a seat of Jainism in the medieval period.
