Hirapur

Hirapur, around 15 km from Bhubaneswar, is a quaint village boasting an ancient roofless temple dedicated to Goddess Mahamaya. Mahamaya, the presiding deity of the temple is adorned with red cloth and vermilion. This Yogini Temple, on the banks of the Bhargavi River, was built in the 9th century. A temple of Lord Krishna, on the banks of the Daya River, housing an exquisite idol of Lord Krishna, crowned with flowers, is another attraction of this place. Hirapur is easily accessible from Bhubaneswar. A major rail junction on the South Eastern Railways, Bhubaneswar Railway Station is well-connected to all parts of India.
