Bhagavad Gita

The Song of God

Bhagavad Gita is the most popular text in the Vedic tradition. The Bhagavad Gita codifies the essence of the Upanishads. It is in the form of a dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjuna, the Pandava sibling, on the historic occasion of the Dharma-yudha or the righteous war in Kurukshetra. The Gita states the basic truths and emphasises the need for 'sraddha' or concentration and devotion in whatever work one indulges in. It underscores the absolute necessity of surrendering one's actions to God.
