Barkot is a taluk headquarters in Deogarh District of Orissa. It is about 35 km east of Deogarh, the district headquarters.

National Highway 200 and National Highway 23 meets at Barkot.

Nearest airport is at Bhubaneswar. Jharsuguda Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
