Chakhesang is one the prominent tribes in
Phek District of
Nagaland. Chakhesang is dialect spoken by this tribe; apart from this they also speak Chokri language.
Chakhesang is a combination of three tribes: 'Cha' of Chekru, 'Khe' of Khezhe and 'Sang' of Sangtam. They possess a unique culture and customs when compared with all the other Naga tribes. Tsukhenyie, celebrated during the month of May, is the major festival celebrated by Chakhesang.
